Goodyear opens simulation center in Luxembourg to enhance tire development process
On March 26, the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company officially opened its simulation center in Luxembourg purposed for tire design and development. This follows the launch of the inaugural center in Akron, Ohio, in 2021. Outfitted with a DiM250 dynamic driving simulator developed by VI-grade, the center is designed to enhance Goodyear’s collaboration with OEMs and support tire performance through personalized product development. Back in 2020, Goodyear purchased two driving simulators from VI-grade.

Rubber Board: Smallholders in Sabah, Sarawak get production incentive payments for March
The Rubber Production Incentive (IPG) for smallholders has been activated for Sabah and Sarawak from April 1-30, 2024, based on the rubber production in March 2024. In a statement, the Malaysia Rubber Board said beginning January 2024, the IPG will be activated if the average monthly farmgate price for cuplump rubber is at RM3.00 per kilogramme (kg) or below. In March 2024, the average farmgate price for cuplump is RM 3.20 per kg for Peninsular Malaysia, RM2.
Natural resources minister: Plastic pollution laws to be reviewed

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability will review the related laws to address plastic pollution in the country, said its minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad. He said the existing laws are considered as “fragmented laws”, where their implementation depends on local authorities (PBT) according to the locality’s suitability and context.

US wants to help PHL double the number of its chip-making plants
American companies are looking to invest in the Philippines’ semiconductor industry with the aim of doubling the number of existing packaging, testing, and assembly facilities, the US Department of Commerce said on Tuesday. “The US companies realized that our chip supply chain is way too concentrated in just a few countries in the world,” US Commerce Secretary Gina M. Raimondo told a business forum in Makati City on Tuesday.
